Professional Services Engineer - Spanish Speaker

Overview

NetApp is seeking an experienced Senior Professional Services Engineer fluent in Spanish to join their global 24x7 Storage Operations team based in Cork, Ireland. This role is crucial in delivering Level 3 technical support including rapid incident handling, service request fulfillment, and infrastructure enhancement for Platform and Managed Services customers. Responsibilities also involve ONTAP system upgrades and continuous performance improvement.

Technical Expertise Required

• Proficient deployment and management of NetApp storage environments including Clustered Data ONTAP (CDOT) and 7-Mode configurations.
• Skilled in troubleshooting performance issues and conducting firmware and operating system upgrades.
• Experience managing switches such as Cluster Switches and SAN Fabric switches, as well as leveraging tools like OnCommand Unified Manager, Performance Manager, and ActiveIQ.
• Strong knowledge of storage protocols and technologies including CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
• Understanding of core NetApp features such as snapshots, controller failover, provisioning, deduplication, cloning, SnapMirror, IntelliSnap, administration, monitoring, replication, security hardening, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with NetApp cloud and hybrid storage solutions including Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO), StorageGrid, E-Series, Cloud Backup, Data Insight Infrastructure (DII), data classification, and first-party cloud storage like Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP.
• Certifications in cloud technologies such as Hybrid Cloud Administrator or Implementation Engineer are advantageous.
• Experience with NetApp Cluster deployments, backup processes, and disaster recovery testing.

Additional Technical Skills (Preferred)

• Knowledge of Trident storage orchestrator, Trident Protect, Red Hat OpenShift, and OpenStack environments.
• Competence with monitoring platforms such as LogicMonitor, understanding wide area networks (WANs), storage area networks (SANs), and disaster recovery technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and associated administrative, security, and troubleshooting practices.
• Familiarity with compute, virtualization, and networking hardware including FlexPod, Cisco UCS, IBM BladeCenter, VMware vSphere, and Commvault backup solutions.
• Linux system administration experience.
• Capability to support cloud infrastructure comprising storage, networking, VMware servers, and object storage APIs such as Amazon S3.

Cloud Knowledge

• Working knowledge of major cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Associate- or Professional-level cloud certifications are considered beneficial.

Professional Skills and Qualifications

• Fluent communication skills in Spanish and English, both verbal and written.
• Basic awareness of artificial intelligence and generative AI technologies and practical use of AI-assisted tools for improving troubleshooting, documentation, operational productivity, and support quality.
• Leadership experience as a primary resource for service delivery teams, with responsibilities including escalation management and project tracking.
• Strong relationship-building abilities with clients and internal teams.
• A positive, proactive, and collaborative team-oriented mindset.
• Experience delivering customer training through both informal knowledge sharing and formal demonstrations.
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, especially change, incident, problem, and configuration management processes.
• Understanding of outsourcing, managed services, and cloud industry landscapes.

Experience and Education

Applicants typically should have at least eight years of relevant experience coupled with a bachelor’s degree, or six years with a master’s degree, or hold a PhD with pertinent professional experience, or an equivalent blend of education and work experience.
