Role Summary
The Production Director will serve as a key strategic leader overseeing the development of the upcoming Mass Effect title. This role requires close collaboration with creative leadership, studio teams, and external partners to ensure a coherent vision and high-quality execution throughout the development cycle. The ideal candidate prioritizes the player experience and possesses thorough knowledge of the competitive gaming landscape, along with strong mentorship and leadership skills to drive a motivated production culture.
Responsibilities
- Bridge the creative vision with development execution by providing clear strategic direction to enable AAA quality delivery.
- Lead across all development phases, proactively anticipating requirements and setting teams up for success at each stage.
- Develop and maintain strong cooperative relationships across diverse teams including creative, technical, production, and partners to promote alignment and shared responsibility.
- Decompose complex creative and technical objectives into actionable steps that clarify both the rationale and the execution approach.
- Identify risks early and facilitate resolution of cross-functional challenges, making informed trade-offs to preserve quality, schedule, and franchise longevity.
- Represent the project and production in communication with studio executives, publishing partners, marketing, and as needed, media.
- Establish transparency, accountability, and well-defined goals to sustain team alignment and momentum.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of production experience in game development with senior leadership roles on multiple AAA titles.
- Demonstrated full ownership from early concept to launch and post-launch live support.
- Extensive knowledge of ARPG and RPG game development, including game systems, content pipelines, player expectations, and competitive analysis.
- Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary teams towards a cohesive creative direction.
- Strong executive presence with an influence-based leadership style fostering trust, clarity, and scalable decision-making.
- Experience managing partnerships with external studios, vendors, publishers, marketing, and media initiatives.
- Track record mentoring senior production leaders and fostering a positive, effective production culture with best practices.
Additional Information and Benefits
This position is primarily hybrid, based in Edmonton, Montreal, or Vancouver with three days per week onsite at the studio.
Compensation Range (British Columbia): Between 190,500 and 267,300 CAD annually, dependent on location and candidate qualifications.
Benefits include starting vacation at 3 weeks per year, 10 sick days annually, maternity and parental leave top-up to 100% of base salary, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life and disability insurance, retirement plans, and eligibility for bonuses and incentives.
