About the Role
Our client, a fast-growing technology company based in Edinburgh, is seeking an experienced Product Owner to support their upcoming growth phase. This is a practical, hands-on role involving close collaboration with both product and engineering teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day product delivery, translating business and customer needs into clear engineering priorities, and ensuring continuous progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog effectively.
- Collaborate directly with software engineering teams to facilitate smooth delivery.
- Convert requirements into actionable tasks for development teams.
- Operate autonomously, making decisions and resolving conflicts between priorities.
- Communicate and manage stakeholders efficiently.
- Maintain an organized and reliable approach to product delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Substantial commercial experience as a Product Owner in software or digital environments.
- Proven track record of owning and prioritizing product backlogs.
- Confidence working alongside software engineers and understanding Agile methodologies.
- Capability to balance competing priorities and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Independent, dependable, and proactive in handling responsibilities.
Experience in government, public sector, or regulated industries is a plus but not mandatory; candidates from commercial technology firms are encouraged to apply. Above all, candidates should demonstrate practical knowledge of Product Ownership, able to discuss past decisions, problem-solving, and product deliveries.
