Job description
Role Overview
This position focuses on creating straightforward, actionable product solutions addressing complex challenges faced by aged care and disability service providers, such as rostering, regulatory compliance, funding, and care delivery. The role requires a hands-on approach to add clarity to ambiguous problems and collaborate closely with engineering to deliver products that customers need and use. It involves balancing discovery and delivery, making trade-off decisions, and driving product outcomes end to end.
About Visualcare
Visualcare develops software for organizations in the NDIS and aged care sectors, assisting vulnerable community members. The company consists of a growing Australian SaaS team of approximately 40 people, actively cultivating and refining its product management practices. The culture is dynamic and shaped by employees contributing to process improvement.
Team Environment
The team culture emphasizes meaningful work, autonomy, trust, and growth. Collaboration between Product, Engineering, and Customer teams is continuous, focusing on delivering impactful outcomes rather than tracking hours. Employees have the freedom to define their work approach with supportive management backing their decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly lead discovery with customers and internal teams, translating unclear challenges into clear problem definitions, job-to-be-done (JTBD) frameworks, and success metrics.
- Own product requirement documents (PRDs) and make primary decisions on scope, priorities, and trade-offs to enable confident engineering progress.
- Collaborate daily with engineering on delivery tasks including user experience and interface decisions; coordinate with marketing, sales, and customer success teams for product launch readiness.
- Monitor product adoption and customer impact post-launch, integrating insights to refine the roadmap.
- Participate in roadmap planning and facilitate prioritization workshops using frameworks such as Now-Next-Later.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum three years of experience in product management, preferably within SaaS or healthcare technology sectors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of balancing exploratory research with delivery execution.
- Proven success in converting ambiguous customer and business demands into deliverable product features.
- Skilled in managing multiple stakeholders’ priorities and making informed decisions to resolve conflicts.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and customer success teams.
- Demonstrates ownership through product release, not just initial handover phases.
- Comfortable making data-driven decisions guided by customer insights.
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards or Aged Care regulations is an advantage but not mandatory.
Why Join Visualcare
- Flexible work location anywhere in Australia, focusing on output over physical presence.
- Opportunity to shape and develop product management processes rather than following established rigid systems.
- Engagement with impactful projects that support vulnerable communities.
- Supportive management that offers autonomy and stands behind your decisions.
