Job description

About &Open

&Open is a global gifting platform dedicated to companies that prioritize care and meaningful impact. Our platform enables large-scale global gift sending, guided by a team focused on taste, thoughtfulness, and meticulous detail. As a B Corp-certified company, we prioritize minimizing waste and maximizing positive impact. Our clients include prominent names such as OpenAI, Hubspot, Revolut, and Fin.

Team and Leadership

You will report directly to Mathew, our Head of Product, who brings extensive experience from leading product and design teams at renowned companies like Intercom, Zendesk, and King. You'll collaborate closely with our Product Designers, Andrew and Vaidehi, benefiting from Andrew's seven years at &Open and deep customer expertise. Additionally, you'll partner with Juan, our Head of Engineering, and his skilled team. Cross-functional collaboration extends to Creative, Buying and Merchandising, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and senior leadership including the CEO.

Role Overview

This role centers on enhancing our software product that delivers the joy and thoughtful experience of gifting. As the second Product Manager at &Open, you'll own projects end-to-end, encompassing problem identification, solution design, delivery, and outcome measurement. Working within a startup environment, tasks vary weekly from engineering details to strategic discussions with the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a triad of Product, Design, and Engineering to set project directions and rally the team behind them.
  • Engage directly with customers through research, sales, and support interactions to identify valuable problems to solve.
  • Create comprehensive one-pagers that document problems, supporting evidence, and success criteria for projects.
  • Lead solution development starting from low-fidelity prototypes to higher-fidelity as confidence builds.
  • Manage project delivery by breaking down work into shippable segments, maintaining momentum, resolving blockers, and making scope decisions based on deadlines.
  • Evaluate and communicate results post-launch, sharing successes as well as lessons learned.
  • Incorporate AI into daily workflows, enhancing automation for reporting, research synthesis, and prototyping.
  • Spend initial onboarding time across departments to understand end-to-end operations and meet key customers.

Candidate Requirements

  • Between 5 to 7 years of product management experience, primarily in startup settings where you independently handled product delivery without extensive specialist support.
  • Demonstrable ownership of at least 3-4 projects end-to-end with clear impact, able to discuss details confidently.
  • Proficiency in both product discovery and delivery phases, including breaking down work, managing teams, and adjusting scope for deadlines.
  • Experience conducting direct customer research and engagement.
  • Regular use of AI tools with examples of prompts, workflows, or automation created to improve personal productivity.
  • A willingness to be hands-on, maintaining high standards while adapting to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and aptitude for translating vague problems into actionable project plans.
  • Strong written communication skills aimed at clarifying and sharing product thinking.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Notion, Figma, ClickUp, and product analytics platforms like Mixpanel.
  • Based in Dublin or, if remote, located within a few hours of the GMT timezone with the ability to travel occasionally for in-person collaboration or events.

Interview Process

Our hiring approach is swift and transparent, typically concluding within two weeks without use of automated selection tools. There are no take-home assignments or unpaid work requests. Applicants will share previous written project materials and participate in a live problem-solving session during the process.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package
  • Hybrid working environment
  • Company pension scheme
  • Healthcare coverage
  • 25 days annual leave plus 2 additional company days
  • Paid maternity and paternity leave
  • Valuable experience in a dynamic startup atmosphere
  • Employee stock option plan

The main office is located in Harold's Cross, Dublin, with options for remote or hybrid work. We embrace diversity and equal opportunity, valuing varied backgrounds and fostering an inclusive culture where discrimination of any kind is not tolerated.
