Product Engineer (AI-Native)

Position Overview

This role is offered on behalf of a partner company located in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will handle end-to-end ownership of product features, from identifying challenges to delivering dependable solutions into production. You will be at the cutting edge of AI-native software engineering, collaborating primarily with AI agents as your development companions, moving beyond traditional manual coding.

This position integrates senior level engineering skills, product responsibility, system architecture, third-party integrations, and careful technical evaluation. You will independently engage with external vendors, define integration needs, and translate unclear problems into polished, production-grade features. An essential aspect of the role is rigorously assessing AI-generated solutions to ensure they meet strict standards of reliability and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of product features, driving initiatives from problem definition through development, testing, deployment, and production release.
• Proactively determine build requirements and steer projects independently without relying on detailed directives.
• Interact directly with external partners to secure sandbox environments, review documentation thoroughly, and finalize technical integration criteria.
• Utilize AI agents in drafting product and technical specifications, maintaining full responsibility for their accuracy and quality.
• Assign development components to AI agents, rigorously reviewing their contributions across a complex production codebase.
• Critically analyze AI-generated code, pinpointing errors or weaknesses and refining or selecting optimal technical solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive testing and validation, particularly focusing on systems managing financial transactions to ensure reliability and accuracy.
• Oversee architecture, integrations, deployment processes, reliability, and readiness for production in all owned features.
• Actively participate as an equal member of the engineering team, sharing knowledge and promoting continuous enhancement of AI-first development procedures.
• Remain updated with emerging agentic development trends and help discover superior AI integration methods throughout the product lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

• Senior engineering experience with demonstrated responsibility for complex production systems, including architecture, reliability, deployment, and integrations.
• Proven background as a backend developer, software architect, or equivalent senior technical contributor.
• Extensive practical usage of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools as a core part of daily software development.
• Strong enthusiasm for agentic software development evolution and a continuous learner of novel technologies, methodologies, and workflows.
• Exceptional sense of ownership combined with an entrepreneurial attitude, capable of independently deciding actions and achieving tangible outcomes.
• Sharp critical thinking skills to swiftly examine, challenge, debug, and enhance AI-produced code and technical approaches.
• Committed to high standards of engineering precision, reliability, thorough testing, and readiness for deployment.
• Experience managing complex third-party integrations and collaborating with external service providers.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations and accountable for making product and technical decisions without detailed predefined instructions.
• Product-oriented mindset with the ability to relate technical choices to user and business impacts.
• Comfort with a hands-on individual contributor role, with no people management responsibilities.
• Strong English communication capabilities enabling effective cooperation across a distributed international workforce.
