Product Compliance Officer – Consumer Electronics

Job Overview

We are seeking a Product Compliance Officer specialized in consumer electronics to oversee product certification and ensure regulatory adherence across over 70 countries, concentrating particularly on GCC and North African regions. Reporting to the Product Compliance Manager, this role collaborates with both global and regional teams to maintain product certification, regulatory compliance, and market readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete certification process, from application preparation to submission with regulatory authorities and certification bodies.
• Coordinate with accredited testing laboratories, governmental agencies, and consultants to secure necessary certificates.
• Monitor the validity timelines of certifications and manage timely renewals.
• Facilitate market entry for newly launched products by ensuring compliance requirements are met.
• Stay updated on newly introduced or amended regulations such as SASO, GCC requirements, ECAS, TRA, and similar standards.
• Evaluate how regulatory changes impact existing and upcoming products.
• Prepare and present compliance summaries and strategic recommendations to management.
• Review and keep up-to-date Test Reports, CB and EMC certifications, Safety documentation, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Certificates of Conformity (CoC), and Declarations of Conformity (DoC).
• Assist in customs clearance procedures and pre-shipment inspections.
• Provide support to internal teams including Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, and Regional Offices related to product registration and import documents.
• Maintain an organized certification database, track expiration dates, and control document versions.
• Support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and participate in internal and external audits; contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• Have between 1 and 3 years of experience in Product Compliance, Certification, Regulatory Affairs, or Quality Assurance, particularly in the consumer electronics field.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SASO, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), and IEC/EN standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications.
• Strong analytical abilities combined with meticulous attention to detail.
• Reside in the UAE and have experience working within the local regulatory environment.
