Job description
Overview
This role involves managing the procurement activities related to civil and architectural materials, equipment, and subcontracting packages for ongoing construction projects. The focus is on ensuring timely acquisitions, cost efficiency, and adherence to project specifications and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure materials, equipment, and subcontract works for civil and architectural disciplines according to project needs.
- Develop Requests for Quotations (RFQs), assess both technical and commercial bids, and recommend suitable suppliers.
- Liaise with engineering, commercial, and site teams to ensure procurement aligns with project requirements and deadlines.
- Engage in price, delivery timetable, and commercial terms negotiations with vendors and subcontractors.
- Issue purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and track delivery progress.
- Address procurement challenges promptly to avoid project delays.
- Maintain detailed procurement documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or project standards.
Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- Have 5 to 10 years of procurement experience in large-scale construction projects.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of construction materials, subcontracting, procurement procedures, and contract terms.
- Exhibit excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Be proficient with SAP systems (ERP/Oracle) and Microsoft Office tools.
