About the Role
A prominent financial institution based in Qatar is seeking a Procurement Officer to enhance its procurement operations. This position involves overseeing both strategic and day-to-day procurement activities, including sourcing, tendering, vendor selection, purchase order approvals, and ensuring contract adherence. The role also entails leading procurement team members and collaborating with internal business units and external vendors to promote efficient, transparent, and cost-effective purchasing processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Direct sourcing initiatives, Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and tender processes, assessing commercial bids effectively.
- Manage supplier selection, negotiate terms, and monitor ongoing supplier performance.
- Handle purchase requests, approvals, local purchase orders (LPOs), and maintain accurate procurement documentation.
- Oversee contract management, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and ensure supplier compliance.
- Contribute to procurement governance, risk mitigation, and continuous process enhancement.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments and external suppliers to align procurement activities.
- Guide and supervise Buyers and other Procurement Officers within the team.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, or a related discipline.
- Between 6 to 12 years of relevant procurement experience, ideally within the financial services sector.
- Demonstrable expertise in procurement, sourcing, and vendor/supplier management.
- Solid understanding of procurement governance, contractual agreements, and tender processes.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and procurement/vendor management software.
