Key Responsibilities

• Prepare wafers and reactors for experimentation, including cleaning and setup procedures.
• Assess and monitor process systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Prepare cross-section samples for scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis, optimizing sample preparation and selecting cut locations according to pattern instructions.
• Operate reactors to carry out thin film processes with limited supervision.
• Utilize SEM for cross-section, top-view, critical dimension (CD), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) imaging and analysis.
• Identify and assess patterns of interest in SEM imaging, ensuring quality and proper sample-beam interaction for optimized results.
• Document process conditions and experimental outcomes meticulously.
• Maintain familiarity with SEM operational principles.
• Manage multiple technology products simultaneously.
• Conduct SEM software alignment, perform routine maintenance including flash and plasma cleaning.
• Evaluate wafers and thin films, and summarize results through graphs and tables.
• Collaborate with requestors to understand detailed needs, communicate results, and oversee wafer processing to maintain throughput.
• Verify process system performance, coordinate procurements with vendors and purchasing, and manage instrument repairs and upkeep.
• Execute routine shutdown procedures and prepare equipment for upcoming experiments.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Technical Diploma in a relevant field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in the semiconductor manufacturing environment or related processes.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This position involves considerable physical activity including walking, standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, and lifting weights up to 35 lbs. Color differentiation and electrical work are required. The workplace environment can have considerable noise levels, requiring use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields due to clean room protocols.
