Job description
Job Overview
We are collaborating with our client Visioncare in Limerick to recruit Process Technicians responsible for operating and maintaining a high-volume automated production line dedicated to manufacturing quality contact lenses. Selected technicians will also provide calibration support, particularly during non-standard shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain automated production lines ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
- Identify and resolve mechanical and technical faults promptly to minimize downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on production yield and quality enhancement.
- Adhere to and promote Environmental, Health & Safety standards, actively minimizing workplace risks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned production areas.
- Uphold the company's Credo and Behavioral Standards to foster a positive workplace culture.
- For technicians supporting shift calibration: conduct manufacturing calibration activities during nights and weekends, develop and manage calibration procedures, maintain accurate records of calibrated instruments, report non-conformances, and assist with internal and external quality audits.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Mandatory: Level 6 or Level 7 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Moulding, or related fields.
- Preferred experience (4-5 years) in technologies like pneumatic systems, PLCs, machine automation, equipment setup, and pick and place machinery.
- Training or hands-on experience with packaging/printing equipment, high-volume manufacturing processes, mechanical setups, and injection moulding is advantageous.
- Formal qualifications in electromechanical disciplines or completion of an apprenticeship are valued.
- Practical experience with instrument calibration or physics-related fields is beneficial.
