Role Overview
As a Process Engineer within the Manufacturing Engineering team in Hamilton, you will work day shifts from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. Reporting to the Process Engineering Lead, your main objective is to optimize manufacturing processes by enhancing efficiency, quality, safety, and overall performance. You will analyze current workflows, lead continuous improvement projects, and support both ongoing production and the introduction of new product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine manufacturing processes to identify chances for boosting efficiency, quality, and reducing costs
- Develop and apply strategies to optimize processes, improving productivity and operational outcomes
- Champion continuous improvement programs utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and recognized best practices
- Lead and engage in cross-departmental problem-solving activities
- Cooperate with Quality teams to ensure adherence to compliance standards and customer specifications
- Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to minimize production interruptions
- Offer technical support to promptly solve process and machinery issues
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by verifying manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability
- Create, maintain, and update process documentation, including SOPs and training resources
- Train production teams on new procedures, equipment usage, and safety requirements

Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a NZQA qualification, Diploma, or equivalent in Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related engineering disciplines
- Demonstrated experience as a Process Engineer within a manufacturing environment, preferably in regulated sectors
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and systems such as Surface Mount Technology, Selective Soldering, and Conformal Coating
- Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities across teams
- Capacity to independently handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Dedication to safety, quality assurance, and continual enhancement

Work Schedule
This position operates on a permanent day shift from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday in Hamilton.
