About the Role
Meta is seeking a proactive and well-organized professional to become part of our expanding European Privacy and Data Policy team. This role involves strategic engagement and outreach with key privacy and data policy stakeholders in Ireland and the UK. The successful candidate will work on emerging data policy challenges and cultivate strong relationships across diverse sectors. This position demands managing projects, developing policies, and delivering presentations in a dynamic, cross-functional environment on novel public policy topics.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and evaluate data policy matters relevant to Meta within Ireland and the UK.
- Analyze proposed privacy, data, and technological legislative and regulatory frameworks within Ireland, the UK, and broader Europe.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, drafting strategic submissions and engagement strategies targeting local policy stakeholders.
- Formulate forward-looking strategies and initiatives to tackle policy issues effectively.
- Foster and maintain relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including policymakers, academic circles, and NGOs.
- Act as Meta’s representative at key meetings and conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
- Have at least six years of professional experience in public policy, specifically relating to privacy, data policy, or associated technology sectors.
- Proven ability to manage strategic outreach involving diverse stakeholders in policy, advocacy, or governmental roles.
- Experience in coordinating efforts across cross-functional teams while balancing multiple project timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience applying responsible and ethical AI practices, such as risk assessments, bias mitigation, and ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Continuously developing AI-related skills, including prompt/context engineering and orchestration of AI agents, with awareness of emerging technologies.
- Proven capacity to incorporate AI tools to redesign workflows that result in measurable improvements in efficiency and quality.
