Principal Synthesis Engineer

About the Role and Company

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a highly experienced Principal Synthesis Engineer to join their Engineering Group within Hardware Engineering. This role demands a deep technical understanding, practical skills, and leadership in physical synthesis and design optimization using industry-standard tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate comprehensive expertise with physical synthesis and synthesis methodologies utilizing leading tools in the industry.
• Develop and implement timing constraints for synthesis, static timing analysis, timing closure, and pipelining across various design levels to enhance performance and meet timing goals.
• Manage timing closure challenges for designs featuring multiple clock domains efficiently.
• Possess familiarity with Multi-Clock Multi-Mode (MCMM) synthesis and optimizations strategies.
• Apply knowledge of low-power design techniques leveraging Unified Power Format (UPF) for design implementations.
• Write and utilize scripts in languages such as Perl, Python, and TCL to automate and improve workflows.
• Implement and optimize various power reduction methods, including clock gating techniques.
• Collaborate closely and independently with design, Design For Test (DFT), and Place and Route (PD) teams to deliver netlists and validate timing constraints.
• Handle Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), perform formal verification, and uphold rigorous quality metrics.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related fields paired with a minimum of 8 years of experience in hardware engineering or closely related domains.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in the aforementioned fields with at least 7 years of relevant experience qualifies.
• Or, a PhD in related disciplines along with 6+ years hands-on hardware engineering experience is acceptable.
