Job description
Role Overview
The Principal Specialist in Scheduling and Planning is responsible for developing and ensuring the achievement of project progress milestones through effective scheduling techniques. This role involves close collaboration with procurement and materials management teams, as well as engineering work group leaders, to address critical supply items and establish project priorities that drive timely completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage schedules to track job progress and meet milestones.
- Coordinate with procurement, materials management, and engineering leaders regarding key supply elements.
- Set priorities for projects to ensure timely delivery.
- Perform schedule analysis to support forecasting and financial disbursements.
- Apply specialized knowledge and judgments to resolve complex and unique challenges.
- Interpret internal and external issues to develop and implement best practices.
- Guide and prioritize tasks for less experienced team members when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and business strategies through effective project control.
Experience and Skills
This position typically requires an undergraduate degree along with over 10 years of relevant experience. Key skills include comprehensive project controls knowledge, interpersonal communication abilities, and sound judgment for problem solving.
