About the Role

Key Duties
- Standardize equipment specs, drawings, and documentation templates to ensure consistency.
- Enhance understanding of technical requirements, legal norms, and client specifications where feasible and lawful.
- Leverage local and international standards to maintain technical excellence within piping engineering.
- Identify and recommend software tools essential for efficient piping group operations.
- Provide expert technical guidance, supervision, and peer review participation for discipline and project teams.
- Ensure that recognized onshore and offshore practices for piping design and plant layout are implemented within the discipline.
- Understand project scope, cost, and scheduling requirements; coordinate with other disciplines to meet project goals.
- Assist project management in controlling project changes, staffing, scope variations, and overall discipline progress to safeguard profitability and timely completion.
- Plan and monitor discipline quality activities, promote squad checking processes, suggest enhancements, and execute corrective measures as needed.
- Collaborate in reviewing project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets, and schedules.
- Lead weekly piping discipline meetings, oversee progress reports, and ensure adherence to checking protocols.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges, assess alternative solutions with pros and cons, and provide recommendations through formal project documents like queries and deviations.
- Define discipline deliverables, control and track their progress according to agreed timelines.
- Lead detailed design development including drawings, specifications, data, calculations, and reports.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Maintain focused HSE practices within the team to comply with occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Exhibit behaviors aligned with best-in-class health, safety, and environmental performance standards.
- Actively promote personal well-being and a safe, healthy workplace and activities.
Industry and Technical Experience
- Extensive senior-level piping engineering experience in the Oil & Gas sector, including both onshore and offshore projects.
- Proven background in piping design and engineering leadership, managing teams of engineers and designers.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and leadership in piping discipline across multidisciplinary projects.
- Specialized knowledge in stress analysis (unbalanced and transient conditions), complex hot-tapping and plugging of C3/C4 services, and experience with Inconel 625 material specifications and datasheets.
Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Mandatory Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) engineering accreditation, or willingness to obtain it during probation.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is preferred or actively pursued.
