Role Overview

Join our Photo, Equipment Engineering II Department as a Principal Equipment Engineer where you will support, optimize, and lead initiatives to improve equipment performance and manufacturing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance equipment performance metrics to fulfill operational objectives.
• Act as equipment coordinator, collaborating closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve equipment issues and lead improvement projects.
• Drive continuous enhancements in cost efficiency, yield, productivity, uptime, and defense systems.
• Regularly review production line practices to proactively implement defense mechanisms preventing major incidents.
• Own tool accountability including cost control, equipment uptime, scrap reduction, parts management, rework minimization, and reduction of equipment downtime and out-of-control events.
• Provide 24/7 support for urgent tool-related decisions and troubleshooting.
• Lead discussions on diagnostics and resolution of equipment issues to help daily production.
• Manage new equipment startup and relocation activities aligned with production plans.
• Update Operating Instructions (OIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect best practices.
• Develop training content and certifications for engineers and maintenance teams, fostering leadership to sustain team morale and reduce attrition.
• Participate in technology transfer activities in coordination with process engineering colleagues.
• Lead or engage in cross-departmental projects supporting company-wide initiatives.
• Champion platform transformation projects creating Lean Six Sigma deliverables, best known methods (BKMs), and trade secrets that add company value.
• Lead equipment part repairs and reliability and maintainability (R&M) reduction efforts to boost self-sufficiency.
• Enforce 6S standards, safety protocols, and cleanroom compliance within the work area.
• Maintain communication with the parent fabrication facility to share BKMs and undertake benchmarking activities.
• Analyze daily data including RTM, SPC, Alarm reports, Tableau dashboards, and EMAP, updating production meetings regarding equipment status and wafer scrap impacts.

Candidate Profile

• A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Between 3 and 5 years of practical experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Robust engineering knowledge including semiconductor device theory, electronics, control systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic), digital principles, and wafer fabrication processes.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with proven skills in leading, motivating, and developing teams.
