Job description

About Analog Devices

Analog Devices, Inc. is a leading global semiconductor company that integrates analog, digital, and software technologies to enable innovation at the Intelligent Edge. With over $9 billion in revenue for FY24 and approximately 24,000 employees worldwide, ADI supports advancements in digitized factories, mobility, digital healthcare, climate change mitigation, and reliable global connectivity.

Role Overview

The CSS team within ADI specializes in advanced sensing and signal processing solutions in areas including Capacitive Sensing, Optical Image Stabilization, Power Management, and Audio. We are seeking an experienced Design Verification Engineer to lead and implement verification strategies for mixed-signal Integrated Circuits. This role covers the entire product development lifecycle, from early concept and verification planning through to execution and product release.

Responsibilities

  • Perform verification of complex designs and subsystems using state-of-the-art verification methodologies.
  • Contribute to defining and steering the adoption of verification methodologies and strategies.
  • Develop testbench architectures and implement verification using Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) or formal verification approaches.
  • Prepare verification plans, functional coverage models, test cases, and verification methodologies for block and chip-level verification; collaborate with design teams on verification plans and achieving closure metrics.
  • Debug gate-level simulations and manage timing violation waivers as approved by designers.
  • Collaborate continuously with analog co-simulation and firmware teams.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior verification engineers in System on Chip (SoC) verification practices.
  • Support post-silicon verification in cooperation with design, product evaluation, and applications engineering teams.
  • Lead verification efforts at the IP or SoC level including effort estimation, project scheduling, task allocation, and progress reporting to management and customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in building and leading small verification teams with strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Customer-facing experience as a verification lead.
  • Proficient in both IP and SoC level verification.
  • Strong knowledge in creating verification plans, coverage analysis, constrained-random verification, assertion-based verification, and formal verification using SystemVerilog.
  • Experienced in verification techniques related to DSP/processor subsystems and formal verification methods.
  • Expertise in developing UVM-based unit and SoC level test benches, integrating block testbenches into chip-level UVM environments.
  • Excellent debugging and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and build tools such as Makefile, Python, Tcl/Tk, and Perl.
  • 10 to 15 years of ASIC design verification experience.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with hardware emulation or FPGA prototyping.
  • Working knowledge of low power design methodologies, e.g., Unified Power Format (UPF).
  • Experience in behavioral modeling of analog circuits.
  • Familiarity with verifying processor-based designs.
  • Understanding of interface protocols like AHB, APB, AXI, I2C, and SPMI.

Terms and Additional Information

Candidates for this role, except U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or protected individuals, may be subject to U.S. government export licensing approval. The position involves approximately 10% travel and follows a first shift/day schedule.
