Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to architect and develop intricate distributed systems powering an advanced AI Intelligence Platform. This is a hands-on technical position requiring ownership of a critical workstream throughout the entire development lifecycle—from initial design and implementation to deployment and production monitoring—collaborating closely with a technically proficient founding team.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Lead the design and construction of complex production-grade distributed systems with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- Exercise expert Python programming abilities, specifically with Pydantic, asyncio, and strong typing techniques.
- Design and implement data-intensive, event-driven systems that meet stringent performance requirements.
- Utilize Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and modern CI/CD pipelines to maintain deployment efficiency and system robustness.
- Develop fault-tolerant architectures, manage data pipelines, handle schema evolution, and ensure comprehensive system observability.
- Demonstrate strong architectural judgment, capable of operating independently in ambiguous and evolving technical environments.
- Maintain a builder’s mindset by personally designing, building, and operating production systems rather than only doing high-level design.
Preferred Additional Expertise
- Familiarity with Dagster and Ray for orchestration and distributed computing.
- Experience working with knowledge graphs and vector databases.
- Knowledge of on-premises or air-gapped large language model (LLM) infrastructures.
- Background in sovereign AI, intelligence gathering, OSINT platforms, or other mission-critical systems.
