About the Role
Mott MacDonald New Zealand is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join their Electrical and Industrial team in Auckland. The team specializes in major water, wastewater, and industrial projects, offering expertise in electrical engineering, control systems, and SCADA. This role involves leading technical efforts, overseeing projects, mentoring engineers, and fostering client relationships to deliver safe, dependable, and forward-thinking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee electrical design for complex infrastructure and industrial projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, chemical dosing, and industrial facilities with control & SCADA systems
- Serve as a senior technical expert within project teams ensuring high standards and quality
- Mentor and support engineers across different experience levels to foster growth and development
- Manage project delivery with focus on quality control and risk mitigation
- Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with clients while contributing to business development and new opportunities
- Collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines and geographic locations leveraging Mott MacDonald's global network
Candidate Profile
- Possession of an Electrical Engineering degree
- Robust experience in industrial or infrastructure settings
- Experienced preferably in consultancy environments
- Capable of leading technical delivery and conducting detailed peer reviews
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
