About the Role
Join the AutoScout24 Group and take a leadership role in shaping the future of data science. As a Principal Data Scientist, you will set the strategic direction for AI, machine learning, and generative AI across the organization. Collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business teams, you will leverage data to build scalable products that make a measurable business difference. In addition, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior data scientists company-wide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive data science and AI strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead the development and scaling of predictive models and generative AI applications for marketplace and financial technology solutions.
- Collaborate with product and business leadership to ensure machine learning initiatives directly support company objectives.
- Design scalable machine learning systems and cloud-based workflows focused primarily on AWS infrastructure.
- Create, deploy, and maintain production-grade machine learning solutions utilizing AWS services such as SageMaker, S3, Lambda, EMR, among others.
- Ensure rigorous model governance, quality assurance, monitoring, and compliance in production environments.
- Mentor and guide senior data scientists, serving as an influential technical advisor within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience of over 10 years in data science, machine learning, or applied artificial intelligence domains.
- Expert proficiency with Python programming, SQL, and established machine learning libraries and frameworks.
- Proven track record of implementing generative AI and large language models (LLMs) in live products.
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud services, specifically its machine learning and data tools such as SageMaker, S3, EKS, Lambda, and IAM.
- Strong background in cloud computing platforms, machine learning operations (MLOps), and deploying models in production settings.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable business insights.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing senior technical teams and driving company-wide technical strategies.
