Principal Data Scientist – Generative AI & Agentic Systems

Role Overview

We seek a highly skilled Principal Data Scientist to spearhead the creation and implementation of sophisticated AI solutions, focusing on Generative AI, agentic systems, and robust Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures. This senior technical role emphasizes hands-on coding while providing strategic technical guidance and translating complex business challenges into scalable AI products.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop intricate agentic RAG frameworks, multi-step AI workflows, and applications powered by large language models (LLMs).
• Oversee AI project lifecycles from experimental stages through architecture design, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement.
• Author and critically assess production-grade Python and advanced AI/ML codebases.
• Manage solution design, enforce technical standards, and promote engineering best practices across AI projects.
• Offer mentorship and technical leadership while actively contributing to coding efforts.
• Assess and integrate emerging AI models, frameworks, vector databases, orchestration tools, and engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with organizational stakeholders to ensure AI initiatives produce quantifiable business and operational benefits.
• Construct reliable data and model pipelines, encompassing testing, evaluation, observability, and MLOps workflows.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 8 years' professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
• Extensive recent expertise developing advanced agentic RAG systems that go beyond conventional Q&A chatbot implementations.
• Deep hands-on familiarity with LLMs, retrieval techniques, embeddings, vector databases, agent orchestration, and scalable AI production architectures.
• Proficient in Python programming and practicing modern software engineering disciplines including API development, automated testing, version control, continuous integration/delivery, and maintainable code production.
• Proven record of leading technical initiatives, managing teams, or owning significant technical areas.
• Successful history of leveraging AI capabilities to achieve tangible commercial impact.
• Experience working in challenging, technically advanced environments.
• Valued breadth of experience across diverse organizations, products, and business sectors.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Knowledge of deploying and productizing AI and ML solutions on Microsoft Azure platform.
• Exposure to cloud-native system architecture and deployment practices.
• Experience with MLOps pipelines and data engineering tasks.
• Track record in advancing Generative AI products from experimental prototypes to stable production use.
