Job Overview
As a Pricer at Red White & Blue Thrift in Jacksonville, FL, you will be responsible for determining the pricing for merchandise placed on the sales floor. This involves carefully evaluating donated items based on their condition, quality, and current market trends, then applying suitable pricing approaches that strike a balance between maximizing sales and ensuring competitive price points. You will work closely with fellow team members, especially the Pricer Support staff, to maintain consistent pricing practices and streamline operations. Your keen attention to detail, in-depth knowledge of product categories, and insight into customer preferences directly support the store's revenue targets and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties
- Evaluate value of donated merchandise considering condition, quality, and market trends
- Implement pricing strategies to ensure competitive and sales-optimized pricing
- Use pricing tools and resources to achieve consistent and accurate pricing across categories
- Coordinate with Pricer Support colleagues to cover and verify pricing accuracy during absences
- Track inventory levels and adjust prices to optimize turnover and sales
- Document pricing decisions and adjustments accurately
- Communicate pricing strategies and updates to team and management
- Follow company guidelines concerning pricing policies, customer service, and safety
- Contribute to store promotions and initiatives through effective pricing and timely execution
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail pricing or related field is preferred
- Strong analytical abilities for assessing product value and market trends
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in pricing evaluations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Competent with pricing tools and software applications
- Knowledge of thrift store operations and merchandise categories is beneficial
Physical Demands
- Capable of safely performing essential job duties in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable laws
- Able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds and frequently exert up to 25 pounds of force
- Able to stand for prolonged durations
- Proficient in repetitive hand and finger motions required for the role
- Good fine motor skills such as grasping, holding, and turning objects
- Maintains balance and agility to avoid falls on varying surfaces and perform quick tasks
- Good visual acuity for close (20 inches or less) and distant (20 feet or more) vision
Work Environment
