Job Overview
This full-time position requires the Press Operator to run presses and associated machinery to execute production tasks efficiently and safely, meeting quality and manufacturing standards.
Core Duties
- Operate hydraulic, mechanical, single and double action presses to perform tasks like drawing, trimming, sizing, piercing, ironing using sheet, coil or parts stock.
- Secure first-piece approvals prior to production runs and conduct ongoing quality control checks including SPC to uphold product standards.
- Accurately log production data including output counts, scrap rates, material usage, and operational details in the manufacturing system.
- Adhere strictly to press safety protocols by regularly inspecting dies, punches, bolts, and setup conditions, reporting any faults promptly.
- Support housekeeping by maintaining organization in the workplace, properly disposing of scrap materials, and assisting other departments when required.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned and collaborate with related operations to further business goals.

Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Previous experience as a press operator and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles preferred; experience in the deep draw metal stamping industry is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret work instructions, utilize SPC and measurement tools, understand manufacturing workflows, and handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Good manual dexterity, coordination, solid communication skills, and practical knowledge of shop floor processes.
Work Environment and Conditions
The role is located in a manufacturing setting adjacent to shop operations with exposure to hazards like moving machinery, vehicle operations, electrical currents, heat, and chemicals. Caution and attentiveness are critical to ensuring workplace safety.
Compensation
The hourly wage ranges from $16.00 to $20.00.
