Position Summary

The Die Setter position involves assembling tooling and preparing presses plus other manufacturing machinery to produce, trim, size, and finish metal enclosures and stampings. This role supports production schedules while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up tooling and equipment by assembling and installing tooling and preparing machines to fulfill the production plan.
• Inspect tooling for accuracy regarding fit, sharpness, and adherence to print specifications before starting production.
• Conduct first-piece inspections to verify height, internal diameter, outside diameter, wall thickness, finish, and other parameters as per shop orders or special instructions.
• Assist press operators and production staff to resolve quality or production issues promptly.
• Operate the shop-floor production control system, maintain detailed records of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished items, and cover press operation when needed.
• Adhere strictly to safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction, quality enhancement, and delivery optimization.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, engage in team meetings, and support team-based problem-solving aligned with business goals.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
• Preferred one year of mechanical experience relevant to die setting or prior die setter work experience.
• Lean manufacturing experience and familiarity with deep draw metal stamping processes are advantageous.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, proficient use of die setter tools and measurement instruments, and capability to troubleshoot equipment and production difficulties.
• Strong communication skills, effective problem-solving aptitude, a lean manufacturing mindset, focus on safety, and teamwork-oriented approach to resolving production problems.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing setting adjacent to a shop floor involving potential exposure to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, vehicle operation, electrical currents, high temperatures, and chemicals. Vigilance and strict safety awareness are essential to perform duties safely.

Compensation and Schedule

The position offers hourly pay ranging from $18 to $21, depending on experience. Working hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
