Prepared Foods Dishwasher

Role Overview

The Prepared Foods Dishwasher is responsible for all dishwashing tasks and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas. This role requires upholding a positive image of the company by delivering courteous, friendly, and efficient service to both customers and team members. Compliance with standard operating procedures, health and safety regulations, and food safety standards is critical. Team members must be adaptable to perform additional duties as needed and actively support the core values and initiatives of Whole Foods Market.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and other kitchenware.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelving areas.
• Assist with handling kitchen deliveries, including proper storage, organization, and rotation of items.
• Arrive punctually, well-groomed, dressed appropriately, and be prepared for scheduled shifts and trainings.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, promptly responding to customer needs and providing courteous communication.
• Follow procedures to optimize sales through correct product preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Ensure strict adherence to protocols including Weights and Measures, sanitation, health, and safety practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe working and shopping environment, including consistent upkeep of equipment.
• Complete opening, middle, and closing shift duties, including ensuring accurate signage and pricing.
• Report any safety hazards or violations without delay.
• Perform additional duties as designated by leadership at store, regional, or national levels.

Physical and Work Environment Considerations

• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Be prepared to stand or walk between 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift.
• Frequent use of hand motions including grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Job requires repeated bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching movements.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals is part of the work environment.
• Work in a range of temperatures, including freezing, refrigeration, and high heat environments.
• Adaptability to wet and dry working conditions is required.
• Flexible scheduling including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
• Ability to operate tools and machinery such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and possibly ladders.

The wage range for this role is $18.50 to $25.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
