Role Overview
As a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer based in Riyadh, you will play a vital role in designing the data infrastructure for leading global organizations. This position goes beyond conventional storage sales, empowering clients' digital transformation journeys. Operating in environments managing data on the exabyte scale, your role is crucial in eliminating legacy storage bottlenecks and facilitating the transition towards cloud-native systems using the Everpure Platform and Portworx technologies. This enables a blend of public cloud agility with on-premises security and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain a deep understanding of customer business drivers and motivation behind their choices.
- Translate technology solutions, especially from Everpure’s portfolio and associated ecosystems, into measurable business benefits for clients.
- Collaborate closely with account managers, specialists, and partners to ensure a cohesive customer strategy that advances revenue and new business streams.
- Effectively demonstrate the merits of Everpure's solutions.
- Lead and refine sales strategies, focusing on technical leadership responsibilities.
- Provide expert technical guidance on storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and related competitive offerings in DAS, NAS, and SAN.
- Manage product evaluations, benchmarking, and system configurations.
- Deliver dynamic technical presentations to secure client approvals.
- Capture client requirements and propose innovative solutions to support their growth and capacity expansion.
- Develop responses for RFI and RFP processes.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability testing and validation.
- Facilitate collaborative roadmap planning and information exchanges.
- Work with product and technical marketing teams to create supporting materials like whitepapers and web presentations aligned with alliance goals.
- Stay informed about competitors, ensuring marketing and sales materials reflect current differentiators.
- Adapt to market trends to position the company as a technology thought leader.
- Embody and promote company values including persistence, creativity, teamwork, ownership, and customer-first mentality.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses creativity, empathy, open-mindedness, curiosity, and a commitment to ongoing learning.
- Must have prior experience in pre-sales roles.
- Brings at least five years of relevant experience spanning technology, design, and communication; preferably experience in enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software sales support.
- Demonstrates a profound understanding of multi-tiered client/server and web-based solution architectures.
- Experienced in identifying new customers and successfully converting prospects.
- Experienced contributor or leader in preparing responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Has expert knowledge of current and emerging storage technologies including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN architectures.
- Proficient with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux-based distributed network environments.
- Keen familiarity with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
- Experienced with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, storage subsystems, shared memory, caching, and windowing systems.
- Knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures is an added benefit.
- Solid understanding of digital transformation toward cloud-native architectures, including on-premise, public cloud provisioning automation, and container technology.
- Technical knowledge of VMware, LAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with modern web architectures such as the LAMP stack, scale-out versus scale-up, AWS Well-Architected Framework, and microservices is a plus.
- Strong passion for technology and capability to explain emerging platforms and concepts to customers effectively.
- Comfortable adhering to Everpure's remote work policies, mainly an office-based culture.
- Preferred knowledge of storage-intensive applications such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle).
