Tūhoe is an iwi dedicated to fostering wellness through empowering whānau, hapū, and communities. Te Uru Taumatua works towards equipping hapū to take a leading role in preventing and managing chronic health conditions, while medical centres provide expert clinical care for acute, complex health issues. This role is vital in leading the operational management of Tūhoe Medical Centres within their rōhe.

Role Summary

The Practice Manager will oversee multiple medical centre sites, balancing strategic leadership with practical implementation. The focus is on efficient clinic operations, compliance adherence, excellent patient care, and fostering a supportive environment for clinical teams. This leadership position requires managing change, continuous improvement, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the operational performance of all Tūhoe Medical Centre locations.
• Support and develop clinical teams to maintain high standards in service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, contracts, and accreditation requirements.
• Oversee quality assurance, risk management, and health and safety procedures.
• Manage budgets, resources, and plan operational activities.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and staff development efforts.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with clinicians, staff, whānau, and stakeholders.
• Identify and implement opportunities for improving services and operational efficiency.
• Prepare clinics for the forthcoming phases of the Tūhoe Health System evolution.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated leadership in practice or health service management or similar operational roles.
• Comprehensive understanding of primary healthcare operations and compliance standards.
• Experience managing multi-location teams or health service areas.
• Strong organizational, financial management, and people leadership abilities.
