Job Summary

The porter plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the warehouse, ensuring a hazard-free environment for both customers and staff. Key tasks involve regular cleaning, adherence to sanitation procedures, and upkeep of equipment in compliance with company HACCP standards. Additional responsibilities may include minor maintenance tasks as directed by management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Sweeping and cleaning interior and exterior premises of the building.
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all restrooms within the facility.
• Cleaning windows, doors, and the coffee area as required.
• Managing trash containers and disposing of waste properly.
• Operating equipment such as trash compactors, cardboard balers, and floor scrubbers when necessary.
• Promptly addressing and cleaning any spills in the warehouse to prevent hazards.
• Maintaining cleanliness in employee break rooms according to scheduled routines.
• Supporting department managers with aisle cleaning tasks as needed.
• Ensuring all HACCP sanitation guidelines and cleaning logs are accurately completed and verified daily.
• Assisting management with various other duties or maintenance requests, including minor painting and lighting upkeep.

Qualifications and Skills

• Effective communication abilities.
• Basic understanding of sanitation protocols and safety guidelines.
• Familiarity with operation of cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, balers, and compactors is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift items up to 50 pounds.
