Porter

Job Overview

The Porter will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across all key warehouse areas to protect customers and employees from hazards such as spills and substances. This role involves daily verification and upkeep of Sanitation and Cleaning Logs and ensuring cleaning equipment complies with company HACCP standards. Additional tasks assigned by the branch manager include minor paint touch-ups, cleaning wet pallets, and maintaining lighting fixtures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sweeping duties both inside and outside the building premises.
• Carry out cleaning and upkeep of all facility restrooms.
• Clean windows, doors, and the coffee area as required.
• Maintain trash containers throughout the premises.
• Operate trash compactor, cardboard baler, and floor scrubbing machines when needed.
• Manage spill cleanups promptly within the warehouse environment.
• Clean employee break rooms as per scheduled intervals.
• Work with department managers to maintain aisles.
• Ensure all HACCP sanitation guidelines and logs are properly verified and completed.
• Assist management with other assigned operational duties.

Job Requirements

• Effective communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation standards.
• Familiarity with operating floor machines, balers, and compactors is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
