About the Role

Join us as a Porter Installer in our Customer Delivery Hub team, working in tandem with a delivery driver to enhance the John Lewis Partnership brand through respectful and professional customer interactions. This role does not involve driving; instead, it focuses on delivering exceptional service by assembling and installing various products at customers' residences, including wet connections, TV setups, and advanced audio equipment.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the John Lewis brand by prioritizing outstanding customer service.
  • Assist in loading the delivery vehicle alongside the warehouse staff.
  • Respect customers' homes and manage unforeseen situations diplomatically to find optimal solutions.
  • Efficiently install products and demonstrate their functionalities post-installation.
  • Stay informed on product updates and new technologies to maintain high performance.
  • Ensure safety standards are met within customers' homes by following all relevant regulations.

Note: This job involves heavy lifting, often handling bulky items like sofas, appliances, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong verbal communication skills both in-person and over the phone.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Installation and removal of white goods.
  • TV installation proficiency.
  • Assembly of flat-pack furniture.
