Plumbing Design Engineer

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Plumbing Design Engineer to develop, plan, and oversee plumbing systems across various project types, such as residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional developments. The role involves creating plumbing layouts, conducting hydraulic calculations, preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and ensuring that designs adhere to relevant codes and regulations.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and develop various plumbing systems including water supply, drainage and sewage, stormwater, rainwater harvesting, hot water, and pump selection and sizing.
• Create detailed engineering drawings using CAD and BIM software tools.
• Perform hydraulic analysis and determine appropriate pipe sizing.
• Collaborate with HVAC, electrical, fire fighting, and architectural teams to integrate system designs.
• Review shop drawings and evaluate vendor submissions for compliance.
• Ensure designs meet local and international plumbing codes and standards.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and select materials for implementation.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve any execution-related challenges.
• Provide support for project planning, cost estimation, and execution phases.
• Participate in client meetings and coordination sessions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Between 1 to 8 years of experience in plumbing or public health engineering design.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of plumbing codes such as IPC, UPC, NBC, or applicable local standards.
• Good analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with team members and clients.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Familiarity with BIM coordination practices.
• Experience with sustainable water management systems.
• Knowledge of green building certifications such as LEED or IGBC standards.

Employment Details

This is a full-time position based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Salary will be competitive and aligned with current industry standards and relevant experience.

Salary Range

The offered monthly salary ranges from INR 18,000 to INR 40,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
