Plumber

Position Overview

This role involves responding promptly to guest repair requests and communicating effectively with guests to resolve maintenance concerns. Duties include performing preventive maintenance on tools and mechanical equipment, inspecting and maintaining various systems, and ensuring cleanliness and proper upkeep of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Address guest maintenance requests and communicate solutions efficiently.
• Perform upkeep tasks such as cleaning and lubricating kitchen and mechanical room equipment.
• Inspect tools, machines, and equipment visually for proper function.
• Handle equipment safely, including tools and radios, and operate all relevant shut-off valves for utilities and equipment.
• Maintain and manage maintenance inventory and order necessary parts and supplies.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved channels and standards.
• Demonstrate or develop knowledge in diverse areas including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicle maintenance, energy conservation, and general building repairs.
• Carry out surface preparation tasks like painting, drywall and wood trim repairs, and replacement of light bulbs and air conditioning filters.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures such as toilets and drains, and electrical components including switches, outlets, lamps, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, and internet devices.
• Program televisions and perform related inventory duties.
• Utilize Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance activities to enhance safety.
• Maintain external and internal landscaping and manage sprinkler repairs.
• Use computer systems to input air handler schedules and adjust temperatures.
• Adhere strictly to company safety policies, report hazards and incidents, complete safety training, and handle flammable materials responsibly.
• Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and asset protection.
• Provide excellent guest interaction with courteous greetings and assistance, including support for guests with disabilities.
• Support team collaboration by fostering positive relationships and responding constructively to coworkers’ concerns.
• Physically perform tasks including moving objects up to 50 pounds independently, navigating stairs and ladders, and performing various physical movements like bending and twisting.
• Use computers effectively for work-related information retrieval.
• Complete other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Educational requirement: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
• Experience preferred in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• A valid Driver’s License is mandatory.
• No supervisory experience required.
