Job description
Position Summary
As a Server at W Hotels, you will be responsible for delivering food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests with professional service. This role involves setting tables according to event type and standards, responding to guest inquiries about menu choices, and efficiently communicating with the kitchen about order details, timing, modifications, and special dietary needs. You will also use the MICROS system to record transactions promptly and confirm guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience. Maintaining cleanliness in your work area, including tableware, is essential, as well as completing closing tasks such as restocking and securing the work environment. Presenting accurate bills and processing payments professionally is also required.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve food and beverages to guests adhering to the highest hospitality standards.
- Prepare and arrange tables based on the event and service type.
- Resolve guest queries regarding menus and effectively liaise with kitchen staff concerning wait times, order adjustments, and availability.
- Communicate guests’ special meal requests, allergies, or dietary restrictions to the kitchen team.
- Operate the MICROS system to document orders and payments accurately.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by regularly checking on each course and beverage served.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of workstations and dining areas throughout shifts.
- Complete end-of-day closing duties, including restocking supplies and turning off lights.
- Present final bills carefully and handle payment processing.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety and security protocols, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a professional personal appearance and keep company information confidential.
- Welcome guests warmly, anticipate their needs, and assist those with disabilities as required.
- Communicate clearly and politely with guests and coworkers, fostering positive working relationships.
- Follow quality standards and ensure precise reading and verification of information in various formats.
- Physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, moving or lifting items safely, and navigating different work environments.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D).
- At least one year of related work experience in a similar food and beverage environment.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No licenses or certifications are mandatory.
