Role Overview

This full-time, on-site position in Wellington involves preparing surfaces both inside and outside buildings, performing plastering tasks, and applying paint and coatings for residential and commercial projects. Typical duties include repairing surfaces, sanding, taping, filling, priming, cutting-in edges, finishing work to a high standard, and ensuring cleanup and safety are maintained throughout the job.

The role requires reading plans and job specifications, selecting suitable materials, managing time efficiently to meet deadlines, professionally engaging with clients on location, collaborating within a small team, and adhering to company quality and safety policies.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Proficient plastering skills including surface preparation, repairs, skimming, and finishing techniques.
• Comprehensive painting abilities including cutting-in, rolling, spraying, priming, and applying various coatings.
• Capability to interpret job specifications, accurately measure and plan work, and select correct tools and materials.
• Awareness and practice of workplace health and safety, especially when working with ladders, scaffolds, and equipment.
• Strong communication abilities, reliability, and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.
• Physical endurance and fitness to carry out manual tasks, stand for long periods, and work at heights.
• Previous experience in residential or commercial plastering and painting, with trade qualifications or apprenticeship preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and mobility to access job sites throughout the Wellington area.
