Position Overview
City of Gold Coast is inviting experienced and safety-conscious Plant Operators to join their civil construction and maintenance team based in Carrara, Queensland. This full-time role offers a 9-day fortnight work schedule, totaling 36 hours per fortnight. The fortnightly salary is $2655.98 before applicable allowances and superannuation.
About the Team
Infrastructure Gold Coast comprises expert professionals responsible for the planning, designing, construction, maintenance, and operation of physical infrastructure that ensures a safe and accessible city to meet current and future community demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate excavators and other heavy machinery in compliance with licensing, procedures, and competency standards.
- Perform civil construction, earthworks, maintenance, and manual labour duties as necessary.
- Manage transportation and coordination of plant and equipment between various job sites.
- Detect hazards, report equipment faults, and maintain plant machinery in safe and serviceable condition.
- Complete pre-start inspections, risk assessments, equipment logs, and incident reports diligently.
- Collaborate effectively with council staff, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Uphold high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
- Participate actively in toolbox meetings, ongoing training, and skills development programs.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations or equivalent practical experience.
- Valid Excavator LE competency or licence.
- Hold a Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence.
- Possess a General Construction Induction (White Card).
- Demonstrate reliability, effective teamwork, good communication abilities, and a positive attitude.
- Committed to safety-focused, high-quality work and open to assisting with general construction and labouring tasks.
