Job description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plant Operator to manage and control various chemical plant equipment such as reactors, vessels, pumps, centrifuges, filters, and mixers. This role requires strict adherence to operational procedures, safety standards, and accurate documentation to ensure efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate reactors, centrifuges, filters, pumps, mixers, and other plant machinery according to instructions.
- Follow Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and approved parameters without deviation.
- Accurately measure and charge raw materials per batch instructions.
- Monitor critical process variables including temperature, pressure, pH levels, density, flow rates, and agitation intensity.
- Document all process readings and observations precisely in production logbooks.
- Maintain comprehensive batch-wise documentation ensuring traceability.
- Coordinate closely with Production Supervisor and QA/QC teams during sampling, testing, and process evaluations.
- Execute charging, reaction, filtration, transfer, and packing operations as per approved procedures.
- Detect and immediately report abnormal process conditions, equipment malfunctions, leaks, or unsafe situations.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards within assigned production areas.
- Comply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols including chemical handling.
- Operate valves, pipelines, pumps, and equipment correctly.
- Support equipment cleaning, line clearance, and system changeover activities.
- Adhere to work permits and safety procedures during maintenance tasks.
- Handle chemicals strictly following safety guidelines and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Prevent contamination and ensure proper labeling and identification of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
- Assist during audits, plant inspections, and emergency response drills.
- Conduct thorough shift handovers, communicating pending tasks and issues clearly to incoming personnel.
- Immediately report incidents such as spills, fire hazards, equipment failures, or unsafe acts/conditions.
Compensation
The monthly salary range for this position is between INR 15,000 and INR 30,000.
