Planning Lead - Infrastructure Projects

We seek a seasoned Planning Lead to oversee major programmes in sectors such as transportation, utilities, energy, civil engineering, and large capital developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, update, and manage comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 software.
• Assist project teams in setting baseline schedules and implementing programme controls.
• Track project progress continuously, identify scheduling risks, and propose mitigation actions.
• Analyze critical path activities to assess their impact on the project timeline.
• Lead schedule review sessions involving clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Generate and present progress reports, dashboards, and updates regularly.
• Conduct schedule risk assessments and scenario planning exercises to foresee potential issues.
• Support change management and evaluate schedule effects of project variations.
• Review contractors' programmes for compliance, logic consistency, resource allocation, and performance.
• Prepare and maintain resource-loaded schedules as needed.
• Perform delay analyses and forensic schedule evaluations.
• Assist in broader project control functions, including the integration of cost and risk management.
• Mentor and guide junior scheduling staff to enhance team expertise.
• Participate in project progress meetings and site visits to maintain on-ground insight.
• Ensure all schedule reporting is accurate and complies with governance standards.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Proven track record of developing and managing complex infrastructure project schedules.
• Advanced knowledge and usage of Primavera P6.
• Strong grasp of project control principles, planning methods, and programme management.
• Experience in conducting schedule risk analyses and critical path evaluations.
• Capability to perform delay analysis and detailed forensic scheduling reviews.
• Familiarity with earned value management and performance reporting methodologies.
• Deep understanding of construction sequencing in large infrastructure projects.
• Experience assessing contractor schedules and construction programmes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving competence.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated success in establishing strong collaborative relationships with clients and project teams.
• Dedication to quality delivery and ongoing professional development.

Preferred Education and Experience

• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Engineering, or related fields.
• Between five to ten years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, planning engineering, or programme management, preferably in infrastructure, transportation, utilities, energy, or major capital projects.
• Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 with experience overseeing complex schedules throughout all project phases.
