Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive individual to join our enforcement team, helping maintain regulatory compliance. This position is largely field-centered, involving regular site inspections and direct communications with the public. As the key contact person during site visits, you will be instrumental in educating stakeholders about applicable regulations and identifying cases of non-compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine, assigned field inspections to verify adherence to the Urban Redevelopment Authority's (URA) regulations, detect violations, and compile accurate evidence and reports to facilitate further investigation by senior officers.
- Effectively communicate regulatory requirements and compliance expectations to various stakeholders including homeowners, tenants, and business operators.
- Manage on-site feedback and challenging interactions with the public diplomatically, employing conflict resolution and de-escalation strategies.
- Provide administrative assistance by drafting inspection reports, recommending enforcement actions, and preparing official correspondence such as notices and letters to concerned parties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a polytechnic diploma in disciplines such as civil or structural engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering, architecture, building studies, or related fields. Alternatively, candidates without a diploma must have a minimum of three years’ enforcement-related work experience.
- At least three years of relevant working experience in enforcement roles.
- High attention to detail, proactive attitude, and ability to juggle multiple operational tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage a variety of stakeholders.
- Competence in analysis, report writing, and documentation.
- Capability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
Contract Details
The position initially offers a one-year contract, with the potential for renewal based on performance evaluations and organizational needs.
