Join Parsons to advance your career in an environment that nurtures growth, innovation, and individuality. As a Planning Control Manager, you will lead program planning and schedule oversight for significant construction projects, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones and project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise program planning and schedule control activities throughout the construction phase.
  • Evaluate and validate the master program schedule for quality, logic, and consistency.
  • Coordinate detailed schedules involving construction tasks, work packages, interfaces, and milestones.
  • Review contractors' and consultants' schedules, updates, recovery strategies, and progress reports.
  • Track and compare planned with actual progress, confirming site-record accuracy.
  • Analyze critical paths, floats, constraints, dependencies, and scheduling trends.
  • Monitor milestone achievement and detect risks affecting project completion.
  • Issue timely alerts about potential delays, slippages, and performance concerns.
  • Assess impacts of changes, variations, design modifications, procurement setbacks, and construction challenges on schedules.
  • Assist in formulating and overseeing mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Conduct schedule review meetings with involved stakeholders including contractors and consultants.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports for weekly, monthly, and executive audiences.
  • Create dashboards, milestone summaries, performance metrics, and management presentations.
  • Synchronize schedule progress with cost and commercial teams aligning to forecasts.
  • Guarantee incorporation of approved changes into schedules and establish baselines.
  • Support delay assessments, time impact analyses, and evaluation of claims for time extensions.
  • Facilitate coordination among contractors, consultants, authorities, utilities, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to planning engineers; enforce uniform planning and reporting standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related fields.
  • At least 15 years of experience in planning and project controls, particularly in large and complex construction projects during construction phases.
  • Proficient in program oversight, schedule assurance, and progress reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and various project reporting tools.
  • Experienced in critical-path method analysis, progress measurement, delay evaluation, and recovery planning.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project interfaces, schedule control, and managing changes.
  • Excellent leadership abilities complemented by strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
