Fruitways is a prominent agricultural business in South Africa specializing in cultivating, packaging, and marketing apples and pears to an international clientele including retailers, traders, and wholesalers.

Position Overview

We are seeking an organized and proactive Planner to join our Commercial Department. The individual will play a crucial role in coordinating an accurate short- and medium-term demand plan by integrating inputs from sales, production, and quality teams. This role, reporting to the Planning Manager, is based at our Somerset West office.

Responsibilities

• Create and continuously update a rolling demand forecast using data from sales, quality assurance, and production units.
• Produce and oversee packing instructions to guarantee timely stock availability for the sales team.
• Regularly evaluate product supply in relation to shifting market demands to maximize sales across multiple markets.
• Work collaboratively with production sites to adjust and implement packing instructions responsive to market changes.
• Analyze market and industry trends to offer insights and suggestions that inform commercial strategies.

Requirements

• Possess a tertiary qualification in Marketing, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• Have between three and five years of relevant experience, ideally within the fruit industry.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills aptitude for collaborating effectively across organizational levels.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Showcase strong analytical skills to interpret data effectively.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and planning purposes.
