About the Role and Company

Located in Mallow, County Cork, EPS Group is seeking a Planner to join their Contracts Team immediately. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Planning Manager in crafting comprehensive project schedules that cover the full scope from design phases through to site commissioning and final handover.
  • Collaborate regularly with project teams to assess schedule progress, detect deviations, evaluate programme impacts, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Provide project teams with clear, site-informed advice regarding programme risks and opportunities.
  • Deliver progress reports to internal and external stakeholders by preparing and presenting succinct programme updates to clients and project teams.
  • Create tools to communicate programme methodologies and highlight key milestones effectively.
  • Monitor trends across multiple projects to identify patterns and inform planning strategies.
  • Work alongside the commercial team addressing issues during contract execution, including supporting procurement activities, subcontract negotiations, and managing commercial interactions with clients.
  • Advise senior management on required resourcing levels and expected programme deliverables.
  • Assist the Planning Manager in developing and participating in the enhancement of planning systems and procedures.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a third-level qualification (degree or diploma) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of three years' experience within the mechanical and electrical sectors, with competence in interpreting technical specifications.
  • Ability to formulate logic-driven project schedules from drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or OPC is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A demonstrated eagerness to learn and take on challenges within the water and wastewater industry.
  • Holding a clean driver’s license is required.
