Role Overview

This position involves handling the order picking and packing processes efficiently within a warehouse environment. The individual will be responsible for locating products, ensuring quality, preparing orders for shipment, managing inventory records, and maintaining the workplace according to safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Locate and gather products accurately based on order sheets or handheld scanner instructions.
• Perform quality checks to identify any defects, damages, or missing components prior to shipment.
• Package items securely using suitable materials, wrap fragile products, seal parcels, and apply correct shipping labels.
• Monitor and update stock levels in computer systems, alert supervisors about inventory shortages or damaged goods.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace compliant with safety regulations.
• Operate packing equipment such as tape guns and barcoders; use pallet jacks or forklifts if certification is present.
• Assist with loading and unloading tasks as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to focus on details to verify product numbers and quantities to avoid shipment errors.
• Physical endurance to remain standing or walking throughout long shifts and lift packages typically weighing 40 to 50 pounds.
• Effective time management skills enabling attainment of daily packing targets in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic reading and arithmetic capability necessary to interpret order sheets and count inventory precisely.
