Job description

Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Dispenser within the store's healthcare department, you will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver pharmacy and healthcare services efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will involve engaging with patients to understand their needs, dispensing prescriptions, advising on medicine usage, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions by accurately ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collecting medicines to ensure safe supply.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to support the management and delivery of pharmacy services.
  • Offer care and guidance to patients regarding their medications and escalate queries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain safe and legal dispensing practices.
  • Stay current with innovations and operational processes within the store.
  • Help patients manage prescriptions effectively through reliable repeats and encourage adherence to reduce waste.

Additional Responsibilities

You will have opportunities to work with new in-store technologies that streamline dispensing processes, increasing patient safety and allowing more time for patient interaction. Regular training and updates will be provided to expand your healthcare expertise and enable career progression, such as pursuing Pharmacy Technician qualifications or store leadership roles.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent), or be in progress with at least one year completed of an MPharm degree.
  • Hold current valid UK right to work; this position does not sponsor Skilled Worker Visas.

Preferred: Experience in community pharmacy settings.

The hourly pay ranges from £13.92, increasing up to £16.64 depending on location within London.
