Job description

About the Role

As a Dispenser in one of our retail stores, you will play an essential role supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure the accurate and safe provision of pharmacy services. Your work within the healthcare section of the store involves engaging with patients, understanding their needs, and managing prescription dispensing processes securely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions safely and accurately, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and handling collection procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members in the store to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
  • Offer advice and guidance to patients about medications, directing any complex queries to the pharmacist as necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe and lawful dispensing practices.
  • Stay current on innovations and operational procedures within the store.
  • Support patients in managing their repeat prescriptions and adherence, reducing medicine waste.
  • Adapt to and work with new in-store technologies aimed at improving patient safety and enhancing time spent with patients.

Requirements

  • Must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, or be in progress with the first year of an MPharm degree.
  • Possess a valid UK right to work; note this role does not sponsor Skilled Worker Visas.
  • Community pharmacy experience is advantageous.
