Job description
Role Overview
This position as a Dispenser within a Boots UK store involves working closely with the pharmacy team to support pharmacists and healthcare professionals in delivering pharmacy and health-related services effectively and safely.
Key Duties
- Dispense prescriptions carefully, ensuring medicines are safely supplied which includes ordering, labeling, endorsing, and handling prescription collection.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff in the pharmacy to help manage and provide pharmacy services.
- Offer patients guidance and advice regarding medicines and refer complex queries to pharmacists as appropriate.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to guarantee legal and safe dispensing activities.
- Keep updated with innovations and operational procedures within the store environment.
- Assist patients in managing their prescriptions reliably to promote adherence and minimize medicine waste.
Additional Information
The role is based in-store within the UK, with no remote working options available. Candidates must hold UK right to work and provide relevant qualifications to be eligible. Working with new in-store dispensing technologies will be part of the role, offering opportunities to enhance safety and efficiency. Training and career advancement paths are available, including potential progression to Pharmacy Technician or store leadership roles.
Required Qualifications and Eligibility
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 (or equivalent), or currently pursuing and successfully completed the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Valid UK right to work documentation. Sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is not available for this position.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in community pharmacy is beneficial.
Compensation
The hourly wage begins at £13.92 and can rise to £16.64 depending on store location within London.
