Job description

Role Overview

Join Boots UK as a Pharmacy Dispenser, playing an essential part of the pharmacy team by assisting pharmacists and healthcare experts in delivering safe, effective pharmacy and health services in-store. Your role will focus on building trust and understanding patient needs, dispensing prescriptions, and providing knowledgeable advice to support informed health decisions.

Key Duties

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately while ensuring the safe supply of medicines through tasks such as ordering, labelling, endorsing, and managing prescription collections.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals within the store to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
  • Offer medication care guidance and respond to patient queries, referring complex issues to pharmacists as necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe and lawful dispensing practices.
  • Stay updated on store innovations and comply with all operational protocols.
  • Assist patients in managing repeat prescriptions and promote medication adherence to reduce waste.

Additional Information

This role is strictly in-store within the UK; remote applications or those from candidates outside the UK without verified qualifications and work rights will not be considered. Candidates will work with evolving technologies designed to enhance dispensing processes and patient safety. Continuous training and career progression opportunities, including paths to Pharmacy Technician or store leadership roles, are provided.

Requirements

  • Must have completed or be working towards the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 qualification or have completed the first year of an MPharm degree.
  • Valid UK right to work is mandatory; sponsorship is not available under the Skilled Worker Visa scheme.
  • Experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not essential.
