About the Role

Neighbourly Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant position at our Hodgson, Manitoba location. We are committed to delivering excellent patient care through a team-oriented approach in our community pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in delivering quality health services to patients.
  • Welcome customers and professionally handle incoming phone communications.
  • Assist with prescription entry, labeling, and packaging under pharmacist or technician supervision.
  • Precisely count, measure, and package medications following established guidelines.
  • Receive and organize medication and supply deliveries, maintain inventory, rotate stock, and aid in inventory audits.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy; dispose of expired and hazardous materials safely in line with regulatory standards.
  • Carry out clerical duties such as filing, faxing, scanning, as well as supporting insurance claim processes and prescription transfers.
  • Contribute to daily pharmacy operations and undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of a formal pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
  • Previous pharmacy experience is an advantage; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities with a collaborative team spirit.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and pharmacy software (e.g., Kroll) with training provided.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift boxes or containers.
  • Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

Work Schedule

The role involves working Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
