Pharmacist - Full Time, Hourly Day Shift

Role Overview

Work with a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store to provide essential health, beauty, and convenience services to your community. In this position, you will lead pharmacy operations during your shift, delivering professional consultation services to customers and healthcare providers alike, dispensing medications accurately, and supporting dispensary maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge all customers entering the pharmacy.
• Operate within all federal and provincial legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
• Maintain strict privacy and confidentiality, managing customer consent appropriately.
• Provide detailed counseling for prescriptions and over-the-counter products.
• Execute professional services to the full extent of your expanded scope of practice.
• Be visibly identifiable as a pharmacist to customers.
• Ensure all dispensed prescriptions are accurate and appropriate.
• Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals within the customers' care network.
• Keep comprehensive records as required by legislation, standards, and company policy.
• Manage dispensary access to safeguard inventory and patient confidentiality.
• Regularly review workflow queues and 'will call' bins according to standard procedures.
• Monitor inventory for expired medications and maintain adequate stock levels by ordering from suppliers.
• Adhere strictly to Controlled Drugs and Substances Act requirements, including documentation and reporting to Health Canada and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain clean, safe, and professional pharmacy environments including workstations and customer areas.
• Participate in financial reporting as applicable.
• Stay updated on internal store communications and respond accordingly.
• Report any medication or privacy incidents involving customers or staff.
