About the Role
Amentum, a global leader providing advanced engineering and technical services to the US government and critical infrastructure sectors, seeks a Pest Controller to join a specialized US Navy program on Diego Garcia island.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine pest management activities in unoccupied areas during standard Government working hours, excluding Federal holidays or as prearranged.
- Apply pesticides effectively to control pest populations across various environments, adhering to safety protocols and pest management best practices.
- Employ methods tailored to project-specific pest control needs, including preventative, chemical, and non-chemical approaches.
- Properly dispose of pesticides, rinse water, and containers following label instructions and local environmental laws.
- Transport and discard pesticides and related waste at authorized off-site facilities in line with legal requirements.
- Maintain detailed records regarding pesticide use, storage, and disposal activities.
- Follow strict safety and environmental procedures to ensure safe pesticide application and waste handling, avoiding contamination or exposure risks.
- Inspect work areas for pest issues and implement necessary solutions promptly.
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in pest control, particularly involving safe pesticide handling and application.
- Solid knowledge of pesticide usage regulations, safety standards, and waste disposal practices.
- Familiarity with best pest control practices compliant with label directions, environmental mandates, and organizational policies.
- Capability to work independently and manage scheduling of pest control tasks within specified timeframes.
- Ability to meet medical and compliance standards required for contract deployment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working in austere environments outside the continental US with multinational teams.
- Possession of a valid local driver’s license.
- Current country visa per US Department of State Foreign Clearance guidelines.
- Certification or license in pest control or pesticide application.
- Experience in government or military pest management operations.
- Exposure to pest control on extensive properties or military installations.

- Adhere to quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction by following organizational quality policies and contractual obligations.
